EVA GARAGE

About

What this site is, who writes it, and what it deliberately does not do.

Eva Garage is an independent editorial index of hotels. It covers four categories — art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels — and describes four properties in each. That is the whole scope, and it is kept small on purpose: sixteen buildings we can actually keep an eye on is more useful than four hundred we cannot.

How entries are written

Each entry is prose. We describe the building, the rooms, the service and the setting, and we try to say what the place is actually like rather than list its amenities. Where a property has a gaming floor, a museum, a sauna floor or a river it melts into, that is part of the description, not the point of it.

We avoid precise numbers that would need constant re-checking — exact room counts, prices, opening hours, seasonal dates. Those change, and a wrong number is worse than no number. What we aim for instead is an accurate impression that stays true across years.

What we don't do

We do not take bookings, hold inventory, or pass reservations to anyone. We do not publish star ratings, scores or rankings, and we do not host user reviews. We are not affiliated with any hotel, group or destination listed here, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to gamble, travel or spend money.

Nothing here is a substitute for checking with a property directly. Ice hotels in particular exist for part of the year only, and their season shifts with the weather.

Geography

The index is deliberately international. Properties are grouped by what kind of hotel they are, not by where they are, and no country is treated as the home market. The casino section happens to be entirely Canadian because those four are the properties we cover; that is a fact about the roster, not a national focus.
